We at Finhaven Capital Inc. are seeking an experienced, well-connected, and motivated Exempt Market Dealing Representative (“DR”) to join our growing team. Finhaven is the first-of-its-kind private digital security marketplace in Canada, and the DR will be part of the revolution to democratize private capital markets.

You will play an important role in the business development of Finhaven Private Markets.

Your primary objective is to expand our community of qualified accredited investors and strategic business partners to support distribution of our issuer clients’ digital and traditional securities offerings. You will accomplish this by leveraging your own network and referrals to Finhaven Private Markets, as well as expanding your network and our investor community through industry networking opportunities and other approved means.

Primary Responsibilities

Hatley Capital Partners is currently recruiting for a private capital placement agent with 5 to 10 years experience as an intermediary between investment funds and general partners from the fields of private equity, private debt and infrastructure funds. 

The VP of sales will ideally possess strong and established relationships with the mid-sized pension funds, insurance companies, single and multi-family offices and University endowment funds. 

The duties include facilitating relationships between qualified accredited investors and private capital fund management teams to introduce capital seamlessly. 

Other responsibilities include participating in marketing efforts, producing detailed call reports of interaction with LPs in a timely fashion and helping source new mandates.

Qualifications & Experience

●      5 - 10 years experience in institutional sales in the private markets industry.

●      Registered as an Exempt Market Dealer with the Ontario Securities Commission.  

●      Being already familiar and trained with Google Suite, DealCloud, Slack and Powerpoint is an asset.

●      Strong verbal and written communication skills.

●      Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.

●      High degree of professionalism in dealing with diverse groups of people.

●      Ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little or no guidance.

●      Ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround.

●      Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

●      Conduct and document KYC and KYP processes

●      Identify and document conflicts of interest

●      Identify and disclose outside business activities

●      Train representatives on dealing and principals

●      Review and organize updates of marketing materials and website to ensure compliance 

●      Provide overall guidance and training on best practices

●      Regulatory reporting and annual audits

●      EMD registration renewals

●      Maintain registrant financial requirements

Qualifications & Experience

●      Previous experience as a Chief Compliance Officer is an asset.

●      Completed the Chief Compliance Officer course and exam from the Canadian Securities Institute or equivalent. 

●      Expert proficiency with the Google Suite of Programs and Slack.

●      Strong verbal and written communication skills.

●      Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.

Compensation

This position pays a competitive part-time salary.  This position is part time, averaging at 2 days per week, with room for growth.
